Mt. Hebron School

Mt. Hebron Update - June 2008

Renovation, Rodents, Plumbing, and Asbestos

Renovation Committee Established.
Howard County Public School System agreed to "Help Mt. Hebron's" request to establish a committee to ensure the productive dialogue and communication between the community and the school system will continue throughout the renovation.

Rodent Intruders
The rodent sighted in the Home Economics room in mid May was determined to be a deer mouse based upon examination of droppings. Traps were set, barriers constructed at possible entry points.

Plumbing Incident
fresh water plumbing leak was caused by cracked pipe. The pipe was replaced.

Asbestos Abatement Planned.
Asbestos abatement ( legal - to end, to abate the nuisance) work will begin on June 19th and last through August 1st. The process will follow government regulations and standards. The air quality will be monitored regularly.

my thanks to "Help Mt. Hebron" for this information.

Ever hear about the broken glass theory.

One unatteded broken window leads to a slum area, if left unattended.

So what are YOU doing about the mouse infestation at Reservoir.

There's a mouse infestation at a new school?

Another new school was shut down because air conditioning didn't work.

A developing pattern....
