Wow! I think Maryland just played their way into the NCAA Tournament! Maryland just beat North Carolina (which was ranked # 5 nationally) by 89-87.

Evan said...: I have seen too many seasons of my beloved alma mater blowing it to be that confident before the UNC game. I figured they needed to win two of the last four (and since those four included UNC and Duke at Durham I didn't think we had a lock). Also you never know which MD team will show up to play the last three years. We now have one two of those four and I think we should also be able to win against NC State as long as the team doesn't slack off as they have tended to do in the past when they play a team they get over confident about.

#5 or #6 seed seems a little optimistic unless we beat Duke again or come in first or second in the ACC Tournament, but I hope you are right.; 1:06 AM
Anonymous said...: The TERPS are in the big dance - definitely. They can finish no worse than 8-8 in conference, and they have 22 wins. The should get the same seeding as Duke since they have the same record. How is that Duke is ranked and the Terps are not? I'd be happy with a 5 or 6 seed. If they do well in the ACC tournament, they might be able to get up to a 4 seed.; 1:24 PM
