If growth does not pay for itself, why are we not running deficits?

It would be possible to offer a simple answer to this thought, but I think this would be unfair.

A good answer would make use of theories in economics, finance, accounting, and multiple styles of management. Before making use of all that theory, I would suggest the thought, as presented here be expanded to offer more definition.

I see the HCCA meeting as an attempt to provide some answers to you question. I hope you have the opportunity to attend.

Now because you did spend the time to leave a comment to my posting, I will toss a comment back to you.

The concepts of growth and deficits are seperate from each other and yet as you know impact on each other.

You can have growth with or without deficits, deficits with or without growth. Having more than enough cash to make a purchase leaves you solvent ( no deficit)should you make the purchase. Not having enough cash, still making the purchase, with the accepted promise to pay in the future, allows you to use future revenues to off sit the expense, as well as to spread your expenes so as to not have a deficit.

If you make it to the meeting let me know what you think of the discussion.

Well, since you were good enough to ask, I should answer.

The estimate was 50+ people in attendence. The meeting went over it's scheduled time, and there was about 45 minutes of questions.

Now don't hold me to this. They may put the presentation on "You Tube". I will stay in touch with them to see if this happens.

I think this would have been a great idea for the Land Use meeting.
